The this style was decided by the group and Molly was made responsible for the characters because she knew this style better that anyone else in the group and regularly draws this way.
We are using the naïve style because we believe that it is subtle using its feel, colours and imagery, we believe the imagery is soft and child like that's why we decided to use it. This style makes the animation feel a lot softer in its way of telling story with out being very serious about the subject.
What we intend to so with the animation is tell the story of the family death talking about the Orangutan falling "asleep" rather than saying that he "died" because words like these are softer on children's ears and give them a clear picture of what is happening through the use of another word which they understand well at a young age because they are much more familiar with it based on their experience.
This is beneficial for future reference because it will allow be to stay on track when coming to develop the final animation based on the idea and who we are aiming the animation at and may need to be considered when creating visuals for children e.g. No blood.
Molly's character designs, these shapes appeal more to children because they are round and illustrated with minimalistic features to come across as soft to children.
