I decided to use traditional animation to animate my character because I felt comfortable with this medium and I have realised that this is an animation technique I enjoy using the most because I prefer to draw and develop my animated scenery and characters by hand, I find that I am stronger using traditional animation because I find it easier to work work with.
My contribution to this project has all been about me using my traditional animating skills, which I believe has allowed this project to move forward because it has provide a different style and approach to our group animation along with the other animations created by my group peers. The reason for this is because our aim was to communicate individuality for Dazed and Confused through the use our own individual styles and separate characters and to demonstrate the differences between everyone's personality and appearance. We all contributed using different styles and types of animation so they were identifiable based on their style and appearance of the animations which has been our aim through out the development of this project.
I used Shepard Fairy as inspiration based on his style of work because I really like his work mainly because its the style I like to work to and looks similar to my work, I like his use of colour and how each piece is graphically presented neatly and used a few main selective colours through out pieces of his, which it where I developed the idea for making my artwork two both selective and distinct colours (monochromatic). This was also used to help me progress because it was used as a guideline and I reflected on some of his pieces to help with the design when drawing out my animated frames.
